The EKN site is pretty well loaded up with 'stock' 'spec' and you name it 'make ME happy classes'.<br /><br />The only true spec shifter class is ICC. Yes, a little more expensive than the 'proposed' classes (maybe) but its success is hinged on a very well designed set of rules. Rules that if enforced will allow everyone a shot at the trophy.<br /><br />One of the big non issues is 'blueprinted' or 'built' ICC engines. Let's clear the air on big $$$$$ blueprint engines. If you, the weekend warrior, have the same chassis set up and driving skills as the the drivers in the SKI ads, your box stock ICC will get the job done if you can apply a few engine tuning skills. There is an old saying "square dollars will beat cubic inches every time". I believe that the ICC rules and regs can remove at least some of the square dollar advantage.<br /><br />The other knock is the poor reliability of the ICC. I completely agree with you on a need for a top notch karting facility in our area. I live in Northwest Ohio and currently drive 3hrs to practice and test at New Castle. We need a track like New Castle, with a nice indoor area, food grill, NICE CLEAN facilities for the ladies so that they will want to come to the track with us, something that the hole family can come too and drive. Whether they want to drive a rental kart or they are a Junior or Senior driver. A class facility that can host class events. I know we would be there pretty much every weekend, either practicing or racing. Both my kids drive. My son is driving an ICC now and my daughter is in Jr. Can. You have our vote and support......
